In a smoked-filled border forest, a scarred ethnic man is captured, suspected of spreading a disease. His mysterious wounds awaken the buried memories of burned villages and lost family. A grieving village widow looks for her missing husband with the help of her sister's lover, a Thai forestry official. Meanwhile, at an abandoned theatre, the Khon myths of gods and ogres mirror the fates of those left behind and forced to disappear.
